The Statue of Eros is a landmark statue located in London's Piccadilly Circus. The statue depicts Eros, the Greek god of love, with a bow in one hand and an arrow in the other. The statue was originally installed in 1893 as part of a fountain that was designed to commemorate the philanthropist Lord Shaftesbury.

The statue is made of aluminum and stands at 11 feet tall. It was created by the sculptor Alfred Gilbert, who was inspired by the story of Eros and Psyche from Greek mythology. The statue has become a popular meeting place for visitors to London and is often used as a symbol of the city.

Over the years, the statue has undergone several restorations to preserve its beauty and ensure its stability. In 2015, the statue was removed from its location for a year-long restoration project. During this time, it was carefully cleaned and repaired before being returned to its spot in Piccadilly Circus in 2016.

Today, the Statue of Eros remains a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of London's rich history and culture.
